CUNYAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Alexa Charles, Hunter (Sr., G, Tarrytown, N.Y.)
Charles flirted with her third triple-double of the season in the Hawks' lone contest last week, a 76-68 win over Penn State Abington. She recorded 32 points on 12-20 shooting, including 2-3 behind the arc, and 6-6 at the free throw line. She added nine steals, eight rebounds and six assists as Hunter improved to 4-1.
CUNYAC Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week
Isabela Araujo, Lehman (Fr., G, Bronx, N.Y.)
Araujo registered 12.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game as the Lightning went 1-1. She totaled 17 points and five assists in a setback to Salisbury, then notched eight points and five rebounds as Lehman defeated Kean on Sunday. For the week Araujo shot 40.7% (11-27).
CUNYAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week (Honorable Mention)
Anna Kitch, Brooklyn (Jr., G, New York, N.Y.)
Kitch averaged 22 points and 11 rebounds per game in two victories for the Bulldogs as Brooklyn improved to 5-0 while shooting .681 (15-22) from the floor and .714 (5-7) from three. She poured in 28 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in a win over Kean, then had 15 points and nine rebounds in a home triumph over Gallaudet Saturday.
