NEW YORK - No. 4 seed Lehman and sixth-seeded CCNY advanced to the semifinals of the 2025 CUNY Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Championship on Wednesday afternoon.
The Lightning posted a 2-1 victory over No. 5 seed and defending champion Hunter to advance to a meeting with top-seeded Brooklyn on Saturday. The Beavers advanced with a 4-3 penalty kick shootout decision over No. 3 seed John Jay after the two teams battled to a 1-1 2OT tie. CCNY will take on No. 2 seed Baruch Saturday.

CCNY (2-9-5) outdueled John Jay (5-10-2) 4-3 in a penalty kick shootout to advance to Saturday's semifinals.
In the shootout, both teams made their first kicks, before the Bloodhounds took a 2-1 lead after the second round. John Jay was denied in the third round to tie the shootout 2-2. Both teams made their fourth attempts, but after John Jay was stopped to open the fifth round, CCNY's
Konstantinos Psomaras converted his attempt to send the Beavers to the next round.
After a scoreless first half, John Jay took a 1-0 lead 8:45 into the second half on a
Josh Clemas goal. The Beavers tied the game with just over 15 minutes to play on a tally by
Aliou Ndiaye.
The Bloodhounds outshot CCNY 24-16, with Beaver keeper
Rudy Gutierrez making 10 saves.
Davio Rossilevin turned aside four shots for John Jay.

The Lightning (8-2-4) jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the second half and held off the defending champion Hawks (5-7-4) to advance to Saturday's semifinals.
Ashraf Abubakar put Lehman in front 1-0 on a penalty kick with just under six minutes left before halftime. The Lightning extended the lead to 2-0 2:38 into the second half on a goal by
Ibrahim Kone.
Hunter cut the lead to 2-1 with just under 35 minutes left as
Brandon Fridburg converted his penalty kick attempt.
Lehman outshot Hunter 13-9 on the day.
Andres Barajas turned aside six shots in goal for the Lightning, while Hawk keeper
Matthew Fridburg notched four saves.
