FLUSHING, N.Y. (Mar. 15, 2024) – The City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) has announced its annual preseason poll for the 2024 community college baseball season, and Kingsborough was chosen as the preseason favorite, as voted upon by the league’s head coaches. Head coaches were not permitted to vote for their own program.
The Wave were awarded nine points and three first-place votes. Kingsborough turned in one of its best seasons in program history, going 28-14 overall with a perfect 12-0 record against CUNYAC opponents, winning the CUNYAC championship for a second straight season and the Region XV Championship for the first time since 1972.

CUNYAC Community College Preseason Players to Watch
Peter Marino (BMCC) – Marino batted .289 in 13 games played last season, recording 13 hits, 11 runs scored, nine runs batted in and eight stolen bases. He also made six appearances on the mound, posting 17 strikeouts in 19.1 innings.
Raul Chevalier (Bronx) – Chevalier played in 21 games last season, batting .345 with 19 hits, 15 RBI and 14 runs scored. In addition, he posted a .934 fielding percentage.
Yoskar Guzman (Kingsborough) – Guzman returns to the Wave lineup following a strong 2023 campaign. The infielder played in 36 games, including 33 starts, batting .336 with 36 hits, 37 runs scored, 29 RBI and 17 stolen bases.
Noah Tannenbaum (Queensborough) – Tannenbaum started 24 games for Queensborough last season, batting .280 with 21 hits, including seven extra-base hits, 28 runs scored and six RBI. The outfielder also stole six bases. He showed off his versatility last season, making five appearances on the mound.
