FINAL RESULTS
FLUSHING, N.Y. (May 6, 2023) - Lehman College turned in a strong performance on Saturday to win the 2023 CUNYAC Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Championship at Icahn Stadium.
The Lightning finished with 214 points on the day to earn conference bragging rights for a third consecutive campaign and a fifth time in program history. CCNY was the runner-up with 176, followed by Hunter with 156 to round out the team scoring.
Habibu Gado was named the meet’s Most Valuable Performer. Gado dominated the jumping events, taking gold in the long jump (6.70m) and triple jump (12.52m), while producing the top senior college performance in the high jump with a mark of 1.73m. In running events, Gado took gold in the 400m (49.93) and had the top senior college times in the 100m (11.69), 110mH (17.40) and 400mH (1:0.98) races. In addition, he took silver in the 200m (23.20) and bronze in the shot put (10.68m).

Kenneth Davis was the top participant in the hammer throw, recording a toss of 36.60m, while teammate
Kennedy Ebeziem took gold in the shot put (10.98m) and men’s discus (36.27m). Rookie
Andrew Cassin turned in the best performance in the javelin, recording a toss of 42.36m.
Ismael Barry was the top senior college performer in the 200m dash with a time of 23.19, while
Dontay Washington turned in the best senior college performance in the pole vault with a height of 2.46m.
In the 10,000m run, Hunter went 1-2 in the race, as
Hengzhi Zhu finished first in 37:38.56 while
Alexander Niyazov finished second, respectively, in 37:50.01.
Alexander Marquez of Hunter turned in the top senior college time in the 3,000m steeplechase with a mark of 11:45.04.
Robert Novo won gold in two events. He was the top runner in the 800m run (2:09.14) while producing the top senior college performance in the 1,500m race (4:23.14).
Hunter turned in a strong effort in the 5,000m run, finishing 1-2 in the race.
Brian Guillermo took gold with a time of 17:01.94, while Zhu took silver with a time of 17:20.25.
In the 4x100m relay, CCNY’s team of

Kyle Bryon and Gado was the top senior college team with a time of 45.46. The foursome also produced the top senior college performance in the 4x400m relay (59.51.)
Queensborough turned in a strong performance on the day, finishing as the overall champion in 10 events.
Bryan Godette was the overall champion in the high jump (1.95m), while
Chrisnel Nicholas was crowned conference champion in the pole vault (2.90m).
Peter Hoffmann was the overall champion in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 11:35.71, while
Renaediaz Miller was the overall conference champion in the 1,500m race with a time of 4:22.83.
David Adekoya was the overall champion in the 110mH with a time of 15.84, while
Ayoub Elfahim was the top performer in the 100m (11.30) and 200m (22.46) dashes.
LeAndre Simpson was the overall conference champion in the 400mH (1:00.08). The Tigers also produced the top overall times in the 4x100m (43.44) and 4x400m (3:39.93) relays.
