2021-22 CUNYAC/HSS Community College Men’s Basketball All-Stars Revealed

FLUSHING, N.Y. (Feb. 17, 2022) – The City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) and Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) are excited to announce its Community College Men's Basketball All-Star Team for the 2021-22 campaign.
 
Queensborough's Khari Ojeda-Harvey was voted Player of the Year, while Onias Outlaw of Hostos was tabbed Rookie of the Year. In addition, Caimans' head coach Marquee Poole earned Coach of the Year recognition.
 
Player of the Year: Khari Ojeda-Harvey, So, G, Queensborough
Harvey has been sensational in a Tigers uniform all season long. The league's top scorer at 21.7 points per game, good 15th in the country, the sophomore has started every game for Queensborough in 2021-22. A three-time CUNYAC Player of the Week honoree, Harvey is among the nation's leaders in made free throws (103 – 13th) and assists (120– 13th). He produced 19 games of 10 or more points, including 13 contests of 20 or more points and four 30-point performances.
 
"It's an honor to be recognized by the conference coaches for this award, which validates the hard work and preparation that was put in to play this year after not having a season last year," said Harvey. "While it's great to be recognized individually, I also couldn't have been this successful without my teammates and our coaching staff. This award is a tribute to all of them and the contributions they've all made to our success so far this season. I can't thank them enough."
 
"As the only Sophomore on the roster, I wanted to set the example and step into a leadership role on and off the court as the point guard from day one. Everyone has bought in this season, and it means a lot be the leader of the team that has worked so hard to get to this point."
 
Rookie of the Year: Onias Outlaw, Fr, G, Hostos
Outlaw made his presence known among the conference and the region in his rookie campaign, averaging 12.5 points and 8.7 rebounds per contest. The freshman produced 10 double-double performances, including three outing of 20 or more points. A two-time CUNYAC Player of the Week honoree, Outlaw ranks No. 2 in the country in steals (91), ninth in total rebounds (236) and 16th in blocks (35).
 
Coach of the Year: Marquee Poole, Hostos
Poole earns CUNYAC Coach of the Year recognition for a third consecutive campaign and fourth time in his career. In his eighth season as Caimans' head coach, Poole led Hostos to its third consecutive regular season championship, going unbeaten against league opponents (8-0).
