The NJCAA Region XV announced its awards for the 2023-24 men’s basketball season, and LaGuardia’s Arthur Dukes was named the 2024 NJCAA Division III Region XV Player of the Year, as voted upon by the league’s head coaches. Dukes was also named to the All-Region First Team, while several other CUNYAC student-athletes earned all-region recognition.
 
Dukes, who was also named the 2024 CUNYAC Player of the Year, was one of the premiere scorers this season in the NJCAA. The guard led all of NJCAA Division III in total points (648), points per game (30.9) and made free throws (180) while ranking third in made field goals (214).
 
Joining Dukes on the All-Region First Team was Hostos’ TeAmo Ebron. BMCC’s Ysaia Marte and Khalil Black, the 2024 CUNYAC Rookie of the Year landed a spot on the second team along with Kingsborough’s Phil Harris.
 
In addition, Tyrese Conway (Hostos), Orion Anyango (Kingsborough) and Justice Carrington (Hostos) each earned honorable mention accolades.
