Kansas City, Mo.- Barrett Lowe of the the Hunter College men's basketball team was named to the newly formed National Association of Basketball Coaches Division III Student-Athlete Development Coalition as announced on Wednesday. The Student-Athlete Development Coalition features a diverse roster of NCAA DIII men's basketball players who will provide direct feedback on a variety of national issues to the NABC.
"Barrett is a terrific representative of our program and we are proud to have him serve on the this coalition," says head coach John Pelin on the selection.
"It's a great opportunity to give input as a student-athlete and hopefully make positive change for others in the future," says Lowe. A media studies major from Livonia, N.Y., he boasts a 3.7 GPA and has made 48 career appearances, ranking second on the team for blocks his sophomore season.
The NABC initially launched the program last season for Division I and is now expanding to engage all three NCAA divisions. The Division III Student-Athlete Development Coalition is comprised of one representative from each of the 10 Division III regions.
