BOX SCORE

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. -
A career-high performance of 28 points and nine rebounds from forward Manny Barkor wasn't enough for the Lehman College men's basketball team as it fell by a score of 76-66 to the hosts Wesleyan University in the opening round of the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship at Silloway Gymnasium on Friday evening.

The Lightning, who saw a 15-game win streak snapped, see their season come to a close at 21-6, while the Cardinals are now 22-6 on the season.

Lehman trailed by as many as 13 in the first half before cutting the deficit to three, 37-34, at intermission.  The Lightning took a 45-43 lead after opening the second half on an 11-6 run, and tied the game at 56 with 6:21 left on a Barkor basket.  Wesleyan outscored Lehman 20-10 the rest of the way to avoid the upset.

Lehman shot 38.7 percent (24-62) from the field and 28.6 percent (4-14) from three-point range. Manny Barkor shot 10-of-15 from the field off the bench. Ricardo Dixon added 11 points and eight rebounds, while Tyler Harts contributed six points and six rebounds.

Wesleyan was limited to 33.3 percent (22-66) from the field and 22.6 percent (7-31) from three-point range, but converted 25-of-31 free throws, going to the line 13 more times than the Lightning, and held a 48-38 rebounding advantage. Ben Lyttle led the Cardinals with 20 points and 17 rebounds, while Zach Wolinski added 17 points. Sam Pohlman and Oscar Edelman each scored 11 points.
