FLUSHING, N.Y. – On Monday, Oct. 18, top-seeded Queensborough Community College will square off with second-seeded Bronx Community College for the 2021 CUNYAC/HealthFirst Community College Men’s Soccer Championship at 7 p.m. at the iconic Metropolitan Oval in Maspeth, Queens.

Spectators are not permitted to attend Monday’s championship game. This decision has been made with consideration of recommended COVID-19 protocols to best allow our student-athletes and coaches to compete in a safe and healthy environment. However, the soccer match will be broadcasted for the first time ever on Facebook Live as part of an expanded offering of Fall Championships through a partnership with Linacre Media.

Queensborough returns to the championship game for an eighth consecutive year while Bronx reaches the final for the first time since 2013. Monday’s contest will mark just the second time in league history that the two programs will meet for the conference crown.

The Tigers came away with the 4-2 decision over the Broncos in the regular meeting on Sept. 29, rallying from a 2-0 halftime deficit. Queensborough’s Luis-Angel Ovando and Bronx’s Baba Anne scored two goals apiece in the outing.

Monday’s Championship Game marks the first championship event hosted by the CUNY Athletic Conference since March of 2020 due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.
