Flushing, N.Y. (Feb. 20, 2020) - The City University of New York Athletic Conference announced its 2019-20 Community College Women’s Basketball All-Stars on Thursday at Giando on the Water in Brooklyn. The group was voted on by the conference’s head coaches. 

Reigning two-time defending NJCAA Division III National Champion Hostos Community College took two-of-three major awards, as sophomore Moreina Moore and head coach DeVernie Winston took Player of the Year and Coach of the Year, respectively. Rookie of the Year went to Kingsborough’s Tiffany Bogle.

Player of the Year - Moreina Moore, So, G, Hostos
Moore was a six-time CUNYAC Player of the Week honoree this season. The guard leads Hostos in scoring with 18.8 points per game, and ranks top-three on the squad in total assists (65), steals (81), and rebounds (136).

The Worthington, Ohio native leads the nation in free throw percentage (86.7%) and ranks seventh in total points with 490.   

Rookie of the Year - Tiffany Bogle, Fr, G, Kingsborough
Bogle had a stellar rookie campaign, leading the Wave to an 11-7 record, an eight-win turnaround from a season ago. A product of Clara Barton High School, Bogle leads Kingsborough in points (21.8) and rebounds (8.6) per contest.

Bogle has 13 games of 10 or more points, highlighted by four 30-point performances.

Coach of the Year - DeVernie Winston, Hostos
Winston earns Coach of the Year recognition for a third consecutive season. The two-time NJCAA Division III National Coach of the Year led Hostos to a 20-7 regular season record and a perfect 8-0 mark in conference play, extending its winning streak over league opposition to 34. The Caimans are ranked No. 4 in the country, and have been ranked all season long.
