Chimaechi Ekekeugbor has been named the CUNYAC/Army ROTC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of 1/5-1/10. The sophomore went 9-11 from the floor, scoring 21 points and grabbing six rebounds in a win over John Jay. The Matawan, NJ native notched a double-double, scoring 23 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in a big conference victory over #24 nationally ranked Brooklyn College.For the week Chimaechi averaged 22.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game, shooting 66.7% from the floor.

Doyin Isaac, Baruch
Guard/Freshman/Brooklyn, NY/Xavarian
Doyin Isaac has been named the CUNYAC/Army ROTC Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week for the week of 1/5-1/10. The freshman guard shot 7-14 from the floor and 9-10 from the free-throw line, scoring a career-high 24 points and matching a career high seven rebounds in a win over Brooklyn College.For the week, Doyin averaged 15.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.

City went 2-0 in CUNYAC play this past week as they first defeated CSI 81-76 and then cruised past Medgar Evers for a 101-81 victory. This is the first time since the 2002-2003 season CCNY has scored 100 or more points in two games in a season. City will continue their homestand as they face non-conference opponent Connecticut College on Tuesday followed by CUNYAC foe, Baruch, on Friday.

CSI rebounded after dropping their 2nd straight CUNYAC match, by defeating previously undefeated Lehman on Saturday. They also defeated FDU on Thursday by going on a 26-0 run to end the game. This week, CSI travels to York College on Wednesday and Medgar Evers College on Friday.

The Hawks went 0-2 on the week, falling to Medgar Evers, 97-89 on the road and then losing to York College at home, 82-60. Brian Kruger led all Hawks with an average of 19 points per game. Additionally, his fifth point against Medgar Evers marked his 1,000th career point. Teammate Alex Mattina was the only other Hawk to average double figures with 11.0 ppg. The Purple and Gold out-rebounded their opponents by an average of four boards per game.

The Brooklyn College men's basketball team play to a split this past week, defeating York on Tuesday, 80-46, and losing to Baruch on Friday, 89-97. Friday's defeat was the Bulldogs' first home loss of the season and are now 6-1 at the West Quad Center Gymnasium for the 2015-16 season. BC will be at Hunter on Wednesday and will play their second-to-last non-conference game at Keystone (PA) on Sunday.
