David Arroyave has been named the CUNYAC/Hospital for Special Surgery Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for the week of 3/24-3/30. The Floral Park native continued his undefeated streak in single competition this week, as he defeated his St. Joseph’s opponents 6-1, 6-2. City’s #1 Doubles player also showcased his hot hand in the event, teaming with Michael Arias for an 8-2 victory over the Golden Eagles.

CUNYAC/Hospital for Special Surgery Rookie of the Week
Astrit Krashniqi, Lehman
Singles/Freshman/New York, New York/St. Agnes HS

Freshman Astrit Krashniqi had a solid start to his collegiate career for the Lehman Lighting Men’s Tennis team and his success has earned him CUNYAC/Hospital for Special Surgery Men’s Tennis Rookie of the Week honors for the week of 3/24-3/30. The St. Agnes graduate played valiantly (6-2, 6-4) in his first ever tennis match against the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. However the Lighting would go on to lose 7-1 in a tough one to the Mariners.

The men's tennis team did not play last week due to weather issues. The Bearcats are hoping for dryer and warmer weather this week as they will play at Brooklyn on Tuesday and Friday at York in CUNYAC play.
