2012 CUNYAC / HSS MEN'S TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL (for liks, results, directions, stats).

The CUNY Athletic Conference / Hospital For Special Surgery Men's Tennis Championship gets underway today, Wednesday, April 25, with four quarterfinals at campus sites. The semifinals will serve it up on Sunday at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on Sunday, April 29th at 3:00 pm with two matches being played simultaneously.

Baruch College clinched the top seed for the second straight season after finishing the regular season with an undefeated 7-0 conference record are led by newcomer Guy Goren, followed by an impressive team of returners including 2011 Player of the Year Christopher Jenkins. John Jay earned the No. 2 seed with an impressive 6-1 CUNYAC mark behind their #1, Erkut Cakmak.

Hunter College, the two-time defending champions, are the #3 seed again with Yevgeny Perepelov (2010 Tournament MVP) and Luis Quintero (2011 Tournament MVP) leading the way.

The final will be played at the site of the U.S. Open on Thursday, May 3rd at 5:00 pm and the winner of this year’s championship will earn the CUNYAC’s coveted automatic berth to the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament which will begin on Friday, May 11.
