NEW YORK – The CUNY Athletic Conference announced that it has extended its partnership with longtime sponsor Army ROTC.
Army ROTC is a leadership program where students will be able to take 24 elective credits that will coincide with their four year college degree program resulting in commission as an Army Officer (Second Lieutenant) upon graduation.
“We are appreciative for Army ROTC’s continued support of the CUNYAC,” said CUNYAC Acting Commissioner Dr. Kurt Patberg. “Not only does their support allow the conference to continue offering a quality championship experience, their support is critical as we move towards the expanded rebirth of the conference in 2027.”
With Army ROTC returning as a sponsor, in turn, the CUNYAC will continue to promote the organization through various mediums including digital signage at its annual conference championships, website ads, along with brand awareness through social media, signage and publications.
One can attend any of the 25 CUNY colleges and become a member of the CUNY Army ROTC. Graduate and PhD students are eligible. Scholarship opportunities are available as well. Classes are held at City College and at York College. The City University of New York is home to a distinguished group of ROTC alumni, including former United States Secretary of State, Colin Powell.
