Second-Seeded Brooklyn Reaches ECAC Women's Basketball Final, Holds Off Keene State

WESTMINSTER, Md. - 
No. 2 seed Brooklyn College held off a rally by third-seeded Keene State at the start of the fourth quarter to post a 65-61 win in the semifinals of the 2026 ECAC Division III Women's Basketball Championship Saturday at McDaniel College's Gill Center.  The Bulldogs (24-4) will face the top-seeded and host Green Terror in the championship game Sunday at 1 pm, while the Owls see their season come to a close at 19-10.

The Bulldogs led 45-38 entering the fourth quarter before Keene State opened the final frame on an 11-2 run to take a 49-47 lead with just over seven minutes left.  Brooklyn tied the game five times before taking a 58-57 lead with 2:04 left on a conventional three-point play by Brianna JacksonDior Dorsey extended the lead to 60-57 with her layup with just under a minute on the clock, and Brooklyn sealed the win on an Anna Kitch layup with 19 seconds left to make it 62-57.

Keene State shot 69 percent in the fourth quarter.

Brooklyn shot 40.0 percent (26-65) from the field and held a 48-31 rebounding advantage. Kitch led the Bulldogs with 17 points and 15 rebounds, while Dorsey added 12 points and eight rebounds. Aaliyah McCalla also scored 12 points, and Jackson contributed 10 points and eight assists. Brooklyn finished with 32 points in the paint and 14 second-chance points.

The Owls shot 39.3 percent (22-56) from the field and 35.7 percent (10-28) from three-point range.

McDaniel, a Centennial Conference semifinalist who stands 21-7, edged Rutgers-Camden 57-56 in Saturday's first semifinal.
