NEW YORK - CUNY Athletic Conference men's volleyball champion Baruch saw its season come to a close on Friday evening with a 3-0 loss to No. 1 New York University in the second round of the 2025 NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball Championship. Set scores were 25-22, 25-17, 25-5.
The Bearcats (18-12) were within a point, 21-20, late in the first set before the Violets (26-0) scored three of the next four points. In the second NYU jumped out to a 16-11 lead and eventually led 21-13.
Peter Gavroff led the Bearcats with seven kills, while
Argjend Osmanaj had six.
Noah Pak chipped in with five kills, with
Ryan Oommen recording17 assists. Oommen and Pak each had four digs.
NYU hit .411 as a team, while the Bearcats hit .017 on the night.
Baruch was making its fifth straight NCAA appearance and ninth in program history.
