CUNYAC Softball Player of the Week
Michelle Mancuso, York
Mancuso went 4-6 with eight RBI, seven runs, four walks and three stolen bases as the Cardinals opened the season with a doubleheader sweep of Yeshiva. In the first game against the Maccabees Mancuso belted a grand slam as part of a six RBI game. She finished with a 1.167 slugging percentage for the twinbill.
CUNYAC Softball Pitcher of the Week
Leilani Jimenez, Baruch
Jimenez recorded a no-hitter in a 10-0, five-inning win over Sarah Lawrence on March 1 to open her season. She totaled 16 strikeouts over three appearances (17.0 IP) and allowed two runs (one earned) over six innings and fanned six in a 2-0 loss to Penn State Altoona. Jimenez finished the week with a 2.88 ERA.
CUNYAC Softball Rookie of the Week
Jeana Clemons, York
Clemons was 4-6 at the plate and finished with six runs scored, five walks and four RBI in the Cardinals' doubleheader sweep of Yeshiva. In game one against the Maccabees Clemons was 3-4 with three RBI and three runs scored.
CUNYAC Softball Player of the Week (Honorable Mention)
Bridget Campanelli, Baruch
Campanelli opened the season on a seven-game hit streak and batted .450 with five runs scored, five RBI, two doubles and four walks. She finished 2-2 with two RBI, two runs and a double in a win against Valley Forge and was 2-4 with two runs and two RBI against Bay Path.
