FLUSHING, N.Y. - Baruch has been selected to win its fifth straight CUNYAC men's volleyball title by the league's head coaches in the coaches' poll announced Wednesday afternoon.
The Bearcats, who finished 19-7 overall and 14-0 in CUNYAC play in 2024, garnered five of eight first place votes and 47 points. Baruch, which has won 17 straight conference matches dating back to 2023, downed Hunter 3-1 in last season's championship final and earned the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Championship.
Hunter received the other three first place votes and totaled 44 points. The Hawks finished 16-13 overall and 12-2 a season ago. John Jay totaled 37 points to be slotted third, followed by Brooklyn (31) and Lehman (25).
CCNY was picked sixth, with Medgar Evers and York tying for the final spot.
The 2025 CUNYAC Men's Volleyball Championship begins with first round games on Tuesday, April 8. The semifinals are set for Thursday, April 10, with the championship match slated for Friday, April 11 at Baruch's ARC Arena at 7 pm

CUNYAC Men's Volleyball Players to Watch
Peter Gavroff, Baruch - Gavroff was a Second Team CUNYAC All-Star last season and named the 2024 CUNYAC Championship MVP after totaling 24 kills in the championship final. He totaled 189 kills, 83 digs and 25 blocks in 2024 while hitting .265.
Aaron Siu, Brooklyn - Siu earned CUNYAC Second-Team All-Star accolades a season ago as a freshman. He racked up a conference-high 307 kills and contributed 260 digs for the Bulldogs while also posting 46 service aces.
Reng Chen, CCNY - Chen enters his fourth year as a member of the Beavers' men's volleyball squad. Last season he totaled 73 kills and 85 digs for CCNY.
Kyle Foley, Hunter - Foley was the 2024 CUNYAC Rookie of the Year after racking up 185 kills on .252 hitting for the Hawks last season. He also registered 69 digs, 29 service aces and 20 blocks as a rookie.
Logan Ramos, John Jay - A First Team CUNYAC All-Star a season ago, Ramos racked up 212 kills and 173 digs in 2024 while hitting a career-best .246 and adding 12 blocks and 38 service aces.
Ray Rodriguez, Lehman - Rodriguez totaled 193 kills and led the conference in digs per set (248 total) en route to CUNYAC Second Team All-Star status last season. He is a two-time All-Star and a former conference Rookie of the Year (2022).
Kadeen Hagley, Medgar Evers - Hagley enters his second season with the Cougars in 2025. In his first season in 2024, he totaled appeared in 11 matches and had a season-best five kills against Lehman.
David Heyliger, Jr., York - Heyliger ranked third in the CUNYAC in kills last season with 263 while also recording 142 digs. The 2020 CUNYAC Rookie of the Year, Heyliger has totaled 382 kills and 213 digs entering 2025.
