Hunter Welcomes Athletic Trainer Ashley Morrison

New York, N.Y.- The Hunter College Athletics Department is excited to announce the addition of Ashley Joi Morrison as an Athletic Trainer.

Morrison joins Hunter for the start of the 2024-25 academic year. "We are excited to add Ashley to the Hunter Athletics training staff, as she brings a wide range of experience working with athletes across various sports and levels" says Athletic Director, Terry Wansart.

Morrison also works as an Athletic Trainer for Brooklyn Nets Entertainment where she provides services to the various different dance and entertainment teams and attends home NBA games for onsite care.

Previously, Morrison served as the Head Athletic Trainer at St. Joseph's University since January 2022, where she was responsible for developing customized treatment plans for athletes, as well as providing on-site care and supervision at athletic events in addition to intake assessments, and clerical tasks such as assisting with budgets, supplies inventories, and more. 

Prior to her time at St. Joseph's, Morrison worked at Major League Soccer (MLS) New York City Football Club as as Academy Athletic trainer, providing care for NYCFC U12-U17 teams.

While pursuing her Master's in Sports Science/Athletic Training from Long Island University, she served as a Graduate Assistant for St. Francis College, covering Division I Track and Field, men's lacrosse, baseball, and soccer over the course of two years.

Morrison received her BS/MS in Sports Science/Athletic Training from Long Island University in May 2021, after earning her AS in Mental Health and Human Services at Kingsborough College in 2016.

In addition, she holds a NATA BOC Athletic Training Certificate and is an NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist. Morrison is currently pursuing her PhD in Health Science at Liberty University, with an expected graduation date in 2026.
