CUNYAC Men’s Volleyball Player of the Week
David Heyliger Jr., York

David Heyliger, Jr. had a strong week for the Cardinals, producing 53 kills, seven aces and five total blocks across three matches. In a four-set win over Sarah Lawrence, he recorded a career-high 31 kills with 10 digs. In the first-leg of a doubleheader at Valley Forge, Heyliger, Jr. had a team-best eight kills and two service aces, and in the second contest, he generated nine kills in a four-set defeat.
CUNYAC Men’s Volleyball Rookie of the Week
Jackson Newcomb, Baruch
Fr., Chester, Va. / Thomas Dale
Jackson Newcomb played a factor in helping the Bearcats finish the regular season undefeated in CUNYAC (14-0) with an impressive 16-match overall win streak. He started with 10 assists, five kills and three aces in a home win against Medgar Evers and two days later added nine assists, two kills and two digs in the away win at Medgar Evers.
CUNYAC Men’s Volleyball Player of the Week (Honorable Mention)
Cooper Moran, Hunter
Sr., Bellmore, N.Y. / Bellmore-JFK
Cooper Moran totaled 70 assists across three matches. At Brooklyn, the setter recorded match-highs in assists (25) and digs (9) in a three-set win. At the tri-match with Springfield and No. 9 Vassar, Moran totaled 45 assists, eight digs two aces and two block assists.
The 2024 CUNYAC Men’s Volleyball Championship is scheduled for April 9-12. First Round action begins on Tuesday, Apr. 9, at higher seeds, followed by the semifinal round on Thursday, Apr. 11 at higher seeds. The tournament finale will be held on Friday, Apr. 12 at Baruch College.
