CUNYAC Men’s Volleyball Player of the Week
Matisse Lee-Maarek, Hunter
So., Los Angeles, Calif. / Palisades Charter
In a 2-1 week for the Hawks, Lee-Maarek hit .429 with 16 kills, 10 total blocks and four aces. In a five-set thriller against Baruch, the middle hit .467 with eight kills and seven total blocks. Against Medgar Evers, he recorded five kills, three aces, two digs and three total blocks. Closing out the week at CCNY, he posted three kills on three swings.
CUNYAC Men’s Volleyball Rookie of the Week
Aaron Siu, Brooklyn
Fr., Staten Island, N.Y. / Brooklyn Technical
Siu totaled 45 kills and 28 digs across three conference matches. In a 3-0 win over Medgar Evers, the rookie hit .324 with 15 kills and seven digs. He closed out the slate with 24 kills, 14 digs and two total blocks in a five-set match against John Jay.
CUNYAC Men’s Volleyball Player of the Week (Honorable Mention)
Jack Centeno, Baruch
Jr., Fair Lawn, N.J. / Fair Lawn
In a 3-0 week for the Bearcats, Centeno hit .293 while racking up five digs. In a big CUNYAC victory at Hunter, he hit .333 with a season-high 19 kills and five digs. He closed out the week with a pair of kills against York.
The 2024 CUNYAC Men’s Volleyball Championship is scheduled for April 9-12. First Round action begins on Tuesday, Apr. 9, at higher seeds, followed by the semifinal round on Thursday, Apr. 11 at higher seeds. The tournament finale will be held on Friday, Apr. 12 at Baruch College.
