CUNYAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week
Kareem McDonald, Hunter

McDonald averaged 23.5 points, 9.0 assists, 7.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals in a 2-0 week for the Hawks. In Hunter’s regular season finale against York, the guard finished with 26 points, 10 assists, seven rebounds and three steals. In Hunter’s first round playoff win over Brooklyn, he recorded 21 points, eight assists, seven rebounds and three steals.
CUNYAC Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week
Aidony Nivar, York
Fr., Santo Domingo, DR / Broome Street Academy
Nivar averaged 21.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals in a pair of contests for the Cardinals. In an overtime loss to Hunter, he played all 40 minutes and totaled a career-high 30 points with six rebounds. In the team’s first round contest at Lehman, he produced 12 points, a game-high five steals, and four assists.
CUNYAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week (Honorable Mention)
Kai Parris, Lehman
Jr., Bronx, N.Y. / Riverdale Kingsbridge Academy
In a 1-1 week for the Lightning, Parris averaged 25.5 points on 51-percent shooting. He scored 18 points in the team’s regular season finale against Baruch before exploding for a career-high 33 in a first round playoff game against York.
The 2024 CUNYAC Men’s Basketball Championship is scheduled for Feb. 17-23. First Round action begins on Saturday, Feb. 17, at higher seeds, followed by the semifinal round on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at higher seeds. The tournament finale will be held on Friday, Feb. 23 at CCNY.
