Keyshawn Miller, John Jay

Keyshawn Miller, now a two-time CUNYAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honoree, continues to be a key cog in the Bloodhounds’ offense. In leading John Jay to a 2-0 week, which included the Bloodhounds picking up their first conference victory of the season, the Yonkers, NY native poured in 19.0 points per game, while shooting a robust 59.1 percent from the field in 29.2 minutes per contest. Additionally, he shot 54.5 percent from three-point range, grabbed 7.5 rebounds, dished out 3.0 assists, and tallied 3.0 steals this week. Against St. Joseph’s University - Brooklyn, Miller finished with 12 points on 4 of 8 shooting from the field while grabbing six boards and recording three steals. In his first CUNYAC contest on the road at Brooklyn on Friday, Miller and the Bloodhounds found a groove. Logging 36 minutes of action, Miller produced his third 20-point outing, going for a new career-high of 26 points while converting on 9 of 14 from the floor. He was one of two Bloodhounds to pour in six three-pointers (Jeremiah Cardi was the other), as John Jay hit 17 total three-pointers on the night. The former Saunders standout was a rebound shy of a double-double while dishing out five assists and swiping three steals. Through games played on December 7, he ranks 6th in all of NCAA Division III in total steals (30), 21st in steals per game (3.0) and is 55th in the nation in total rebounds (74).

Brandon Barrett, York

Brandon Barrett showed out Wednesday (Dec. 4) against Division I opponent Long Island University, recording a team-leading 15 points, 12 rebounds, and a career-high six blocks on his way to a second consecutive double-double. Throughout the contest, Long Island announcers consistently praised the freshman’s approach to the game. Over seven games this season, the Queens native is averaging 11 points, a team-high 10.1 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game. He is also shooting 53.2 percent (33-of-62) from the floor. Per the CUNYAC leaderboard, Barrett is second in rebounds and blocks per game.

Justin Morety, CCNY

In Friday's conference opener, Morety led the Beavers to their third straight victory with a team-high 22 points (7-for-14), eight rebounds, and five assists.
