Hunter Draws No. 3 Middlebury in NCAA Men's Soccer Opening Round

FLUSHING, N.Y. - 2024 CUNYAC men's soccer champion Hunter College will travel to No. 3 nationally Middlebury College to take on the Panthers in the first round of the 2024 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship on Saturday, November 16, with game time to be announced.

The Hawks (6-11-2) captured their first CUNYAC men's soccer crown as the No. 6 seed in the six-team field.  In the first round, Hunter battled No. 3 Baruch to a 0-0 tie before moving on on penalty kicks.  The Hawks topped second-seeded CCNY 2-1 in overtime in the semifinals before winning the conference title with a 3-0 shutout of No. 1 Lehman on Saturday.

Hunter is making its fourth all-time appearance in the NCAA tournament and its first since 2010.

Middlebury (14-1-3) is currently ranked No. 3 in the United Soccer Coaches Division III ranking.  The Panthers suffered their first loss of the season in the NESCAC championship game on Sunday, falling to Connecticut College 3-1.  Middlebury registered a 7-0-3 conference during the regular season.

Middlebury is making its seventh straight NCAA appearance and 16th all-time.  

Saturday's Middlebury-Hunter winner will face the winner of a first round game between Rowan (12-4-5) and Vassar (12-3-3) on Sunday at Middlebury.
