Ava Deguzman, Baruch

Deguzman earns Player of the Week honors for a third time this season. In Baruch’s conference opener against Brooklyn, the sophomore recorded a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles while teaming up with Esther Benjamin for an 8-0 shutout at first doubles.
 
Deguzman has yet to lose a singles match thus far in her intercollegiate career.
 
CUNYAC/HSS Women’s Tennis Rookie of the Week
Keila Pagan, Baruch
Fr., Bronx, N.Y./Astor Collegiate
 
In Baruch’s conference opner against Brooklyn, Pagan recorded a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 5 singles, while teaming up with fellow rookie Alejandra Cardenas at third doubles to earn an 8-4 win.

The 2022 CUNYAC/HSS Women’s Tennis Championship will take place from October 23 through October 27. The six-team, single-elimination tournament begins with first round action on Sunday, October 23 hosted by the higher seed, followed by semifinal action on Tuesday, October 25 at the USTA National Center, concluding with the championship match on Thursday, October 27 at the Flushing facility.
 
ABOUT THE CITY UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK ATHLETIC CONFERENCE (CUNYAC)
The City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) is an NCAA Division III and NJCAA Division III conference with 14 members that reach across all five boroughs of New York City.
