CUNYAC Community College Women's Volleyball Player of the Week
Josanne Lewis, BMCC
Fr., Rochester, Minn./Luther Prep

Lewis earned Player of the Week recognition for a third consecutive week after guiding BMCC to an unbeaten week of competition (3-0). Against Queensborough, she was dominant against the five-time consecutive NJCAA Region 15 Champion, where she spearheaded the Panther's offensive attack posting a double double with a team-high 16 kills to go along with a team-best tied 13 digs on defense. The victory snapped a 17-match losing streak against the Tigers dating back to 2012.

She followed up that performance with her second 20-plus kill effort at Hostos, smashing a game-high 23 kills and a career-high .541 hitting percentage to go along with 11 digs. She recorded her eighth consecutive double-double over the weekend against Orange County, led with a team-high 12 kills to go along with 10 digs.

CUNYAC Community College Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week
Emanuella Aurel, BMCC

Aurel played a major role in ending the Panther's 17-game losing streak to Queensborough Community College, defeating them for the first time since 2012 and the first time in the Regular Season since 2011 while ending the Tiger's unprecedented 55-match winning streak against CUNYAC competition. Against the five-time consecutive NJCAA Region 15 Champion, she registered the game-winning kill in the match, finishing with six total, and tied a team-best defensively with 13 digs.

She followed that up with a game-best 16 digs against Hostos to lead the BMCC defense and missed her second double-double of the season by one kill, uncorking nine in the match. Aurel concluded the week with a team-high 16 digs and a career-high .833 hitting percentage to lead the Panther backline in a straight-set sweep of Orange County.

The 2022 CUNYAC Community College Women's Volleyball Championship is scheduled for Monday, October 24 at Queensborough Community College.
