A Pair of CUNYAC standouts will take part in the NCAA Division III Men’s Indoor Track and Field Championships this weekend in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Pierre Francois, now a Sophomore at Lehman, qualified for the National Tournament in the Triple Jump event with a leap of 14.41 meters at the 2013-14 CUNYAC Championships. Francois will jump as the 14th seed in the NCAA event. In 2011-12 during his first season with the Bronx Community College Broncos, he qualified for the NCAA Championships in the triple jump event with a length of 14.10 meters.

Thierry Diessongo, a junior at City College of New York, qualified for this year’s NCAA Tournament in both the 60 meter dash, with a time of 6.83 seconds and in the 200 meter race with a time of 21.76 seconds. He will be the 8th and 10th seed in these events, respectively. The two time CUNYAC Performer of the Year took part in last year’s NCAA Championship events for both indoor and outdoor track. He finished fourth in the indoor 60 meter dash championships with a time of 6.88 seconds and later finished fifth in the outdoor 100 meter dash with a time of 11.01 seconds.
