Michael Taylor has been named the CUNYAC/Con Edison Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of 1/14-1/20. In a 75-70 win over St. Joseph's of Brooklyn, Taylor had 29 points to go along with five rebounds as he shot 41% from the floor. The guard scored 29 with seven rebounds while shooting 40% and going 9-9 from the charity stripe as the Cougars took down the Cardinals of York 85-78. The Brooklyn native finished out the week against Baruch with a 28-point effort in which he went 10 for 10 from the free throw line. Overall the sophomore averaged 29 points and 5.3 rebounds for the week as he shot 41% from the field and went a perfect 23 of 23 from the free throw line over three games.
CUNYAC/Con Edison Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week
Raymond De La Cruz, Baruch
Guard/Freshman/Bronx, NY/All Hollows
Raymond De La Cruz has been named the CUNYAC/Con Edison Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the week of 1/14-1/20. The guard began the week against Rutgers-Camden with six points and six rebounds while shooting .500 from three-point range. Against Lehman, he shot 75% from 3-point land with 15 points as the Bearcats took down the Lightning 78-69. In a 86-77 win over Medgar Evers, he scored 14 points to complement his nine rebounds. For the week, he averaged 11.7 points and six rebounds with a .500 shooting percentage from downtown.
