The 2015 CUNYAC/University Student Senate Community College Cross Country Championships were held on Sunday, October 25th at Van Cortlandt Park. The Wave from Kingsborough came out on top of both the men’s and women’s results.

“On championship day, you prepare to accomplish your goal,” said Kingsborough Head Coach Dave Loobie. “The whole team has to focus their effort on achieving the goal. They cannot let any distractions in. You prepare for it all season and we did it today.”

First, the women took the title with a perfect score of 15 points. They were led by Lexus Martinez at 31:11.9 for second place at the Community College level. Overall, Queensborough’s Julyana Agustin was first to finish at the Community College level with a time of 28:34.9

On the men’s side, Kingsborough notched a perfect mark once again at 15 points and were followed by Queensborough at 43. At the Community College level, their Shawn Rene was first to finish at 31:51.3. He was followed by teammates Kwesie Applewhite in 33:41.0, Anija Addison at 34:50.8, Joseph Bacchus with a time of 35:17.3, and Mawali Brown who finished in 35:25.7.
