Isabela Araujo was selected as Rookie of the Year, while Brooklyn's
Megan Campbell was voted the Coach of the Year. Jennifer Metra of Medgar Evers is the recipient of the Sportsmanship Award.
Player of the Year: Alexa Charles, Hunter
Charles was named Player of the Year for the second straight year after sharing the award with Baruch's Mia Castillo this season. A nine-time CUNYAC Player of the Week, Charles leads the conference and all of NCAA basketball with her 31.0 ppg average. She also leads Division III in steals with 6.5 game, while adding 8.4 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. Charles is shooting 50.5% from the floor and her 2,603 career points rank sixth all-time in Division III history.
Rookie of the Year: Isabela Araujo, Lehman
Araujo, a seven-time CUNYAC Rookie of the Week, is averaging 11.8 points and 3.6 rebounds per game for the Lightning, who made their first CUNYAC semifinal appearance since 2019. She has reached double figures in scoring 17 times, including a season-best 19 points against Penn State Berks on November 14. Araujo is also adding 2.1 steals and 1.5 assists per game. Araujo is the first Lightning rookie to cop Rookie of the Year honors since Amely Del Rosario in 2013-14.
Coach of the Year: Megan Campbell, Brooklyn
Campbell, who was named Coach of the Year for her second time in her first three seasons at the helm, has guided the Bulldogs to a 23-3 record and a 14-0 CUNYAC record this season as Brooklyn enters Friday night's championship game with a 16-game winning streak, currently tied for seventh in Division III. The Bulldogs rank fourth nationally in scoring margin (+25.4 ppg), second in turnovers forced per game and eighth in field goal percentage defense.
