CUNY Athletic Conference Partners with Officially Human

OFFICIALLY HUMAN WEBSITE

NEW YORK
 – The CUNY Athletic Conference has announced a partnership with Officially Human, an organization whose mission is to “restore respect to game officials and recognize them as authorities on the fields and courts."

“We are excited to join with Officially Human as it seeks to promote respect towards officials across the country,” said CUNYAC Commissioner Dr. Kurt Patberg.  “Attracting and keeping top-notch officials is essential to providing student-athletes with a positive experience. Fostering respect for officials and promoting strong sportsmanship only strengthens those efforts.”

Officially Human was founded by Brenda Hilton, who has spent over 20 years in college athletics working with sports officials from the mid-majors to the highest level of Division I.

“The expansion into the city of New York is exciting and I appreciate the leadership at the CUNY Athletic Conference in recognizing the importance of sportsmanship and “humanizing” the officials working all sports.,” said Hilton.

The Lombard, Illinois-based organization was founded in 2019 to restore respect to, and positive treatment of, sport officials through increased education and communication to all stakeholders (administrators, coaches, athletes, and fans).

The CUNYAC will provide each member institution access to resources created by Officially Human throughout the partnership. Videos and other informational items designed to help better educate and inform student-athletes, coaches, and fans will be highlighted throughout the membership.
