2025 CUNYAC Women's Soccer All-Conference Awards and Team Announced

NEW YORK - The 2025 CUNY Athletic Conference women's soccer All-Conference awards and teams were announced Friday afternoon.

John Jay College junior Natalie Mack was selected as the league's Player of the Year.  York College freshman Stephanie Gonzalez was tabbed as the Rookie of the Year, while John Jay head coach Ajani Clunie was selected by his peers as the Coach of the Year.  Brooklyn College's Sage Bernstein was voted the recipient of the Sportsmanship Award.

Player of the Year: Natalie Mack, John Jay (Jr., M,  Folsom, Calif.)

Mack is the fourth straight Bloodhound to earn Player of the Year honors, joining Katie Healy (2022), Nora O'Connor (2023) and Olivia Boucher (2024).

Mack, who earned CUNYAC Player of the Week honors three times this season, has totaled five goals and a league-high seven assists for 17 points thus far this season.  Her 17 points rank third overall in the conference.  Mack had a hand in more than one goal on five occasions, including a goal and an assist in last weekend's CUNYAC semifinal win over Lehman.

Rookie of the Year: Stephanie Gonzalez, York (Fr., M, Brooklyn, N.Y.)

Gonzalez is the first Cardinal to earn Rookie of the Year since Gisselle Flores-Barajas in 2019.

Gonzalez leads the conference in scoring, having totaled 10 goals and an assist for 21 points.  A two-time Rookie of the Week and one-time Player of the Week, she recorded seven goals in a victory over Keystone, the most goals scored by a player in a single game this season.

Coach of the Year: Ajani Clunie, John Jay

Clunie earns Coach of the Year for the second straight season and the fourth time in his career, joining 2021, 2022 and 2024.

Clunie has guided the Bloodhounds to a 10-2-3 overall record and a 4-0 CUNYAC mark for the program's fifth regular season title in six seasons.  He has led John Jay to its sixth straight championship game appearance as the Bloodhounds look to win their fifth tournament title in six seasons on Saturday.
