FLUSHING, N.Y. - The City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) announced its men's soccer All-Star Awards and All-Star Teams for 2024 recently.
Baruch's Arman Celebi was tabbed as the league's Player of the Year for the second straight season, with Yanis Hamdi Pacha of CCNY being selected as the CUNYAC Rookie of the Year. CCNY's Roger Gonzalez was chosen as the Coach of the Year by his peers.
Celebi, a junior, finished with seven goals and four assists for 18 points as he led the Bearcats to a third-place finish in the CUNYAC standings with a 4-1-2 record. He finished tied for third in the conference in both goals and assists, while his 18 points were tied for second in the conference.
Hamdi Pacha helped the Beavers to a tie for the top spot in the CUNYAC standings by totaling four goals for eight points. CCNY's leading scorer, Hamdi Pacha recorded a pair of game-winning goals and was also a one-time recipient of CUNYAC Rookie of the Week honors.
Gonzalez, in his first season at his alma mater, claimed Coach of the Year honors after guiding the Beavers to a 5-0-2 CUNYAC record, tied for the top spot in the regular season with Lehman. CCNY earned the No. 2 seed in the CUNYAC Men's Soccer Championship and posted a four-win improvement from 2023.
