FLUSHING, N.Y. - Sixth-seeded Hunter College completed its run through the 2024 CUNYAC Men's Soccer Championship with a 3-0 win over No. 1 seed Baruch on Saturday afternoon at Queens College.  The Hawks won the fifth CUNYAC title in program history, but the first since 2010.

Hunter, now 6-11-2 overall, earns the CUNYAC's automatic berth to the 2024 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship.  The Hawks will learn their next opponent on Monday at 1:30 pm as the NCAA men's soccer selection show airs on NCAA.com.

Lehman is now 8-7-1 overall.

Hunter took a 1-0 lead in the 28th minute on a goal by Abdullah Al Maghrabi, with Ben Avacook assisting on the goal. The Hawks took that 1-0 lead into the break despite getting outshot 8-4.

Championship MVP Bradley Espejo put the Hawks in front 2-0 with just over 13 minutes remaining into the game.  Less than two minutes later, Avacook scored to put Hunter in front 3-0.

Hunter goalie Matthew Heimowitz registered nine saves en route to the shutout, while Lehman goalie Andres Barajas recorded one stop.  Lehman finished with a 21-9 shot advantage on the afternoon, outshooting the Hawks 13-5 after halftime.

Hunter's run to the title began with a 0-0 tie with No. 3 Baruch in the opening round, with the Hawks advancing in a penalty kick shootout.  The Hawks then upended No. 2 CCNY 2-1 in overtime in the semifinals.
