FLUSHING, N.Y. (Nov. 7, 2023) – The City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) is excited its all-star awards for the 2023 women’s cross country season, as voted upon by the league's head coaches. The all-star team is based on individual finish at the conference championship meet.
 
Baruch’s Paz Moran was named CUNYAC Runner of the Year, while Medgar Evers’ Kenia Irish-Bramble was voted Rookie of the Year. In addition, Hunter head coach Marvin Hawkins was selected as conference Coach of the Year.
 
Runner of the Year: Paz Moran, Fr., Baruch
Moran was sensational all season long in her first year in a Bearcats’ unformed. A five-time CUNYAC Rookie of the Week honoree, she was the first runner to cross the finish line for the Bearcats in every meet. She was the top performer at the CUNYAC Championship, crossing the fine line in 26:48, 1:12 faster than the second-place participant.
 
Rookie of the Year: Kenia Irish-Bramble, Fr., Medgar Evers
Irish-Bramble had a strong rookie campaign for the Cougars. A three-time CUNYAC Rookie of the Week performer, she was Medgar’s top finish at every meet this season, including at the conference championship, where she finished third overall with a time of 28:07.4.
 
Coach of the Year: Marvin Hawkins, Hunter
Hawkins wins his second Coach of the Year citation after leading Hunter to a ninth consecutive CUNYAC title.
