CUNYAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week
Yassine Sakhi, CCNY
Sr., New York, N.Y. / Manhattan Ctr. for Science & Math
 
Sakhi led CCNY to a 2-1 week, averaging 21.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.3 steals. He finished with 24 points, four rebounds, five assists and two steals in a win at Old Westbury. A few days later, at Coast Guard, he produced 23 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals in a loss and followed that up with 16 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals in a victory over Mitchell.

CUNYAC Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week
Aidony Nivar, York
Fr., Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic / Broome Street Academy
 
Nivar had a solid three-game slate for the Cardinals in a 1-2 week. He dropped a career-high 19 points with four rebounds, three assists and three steals against Manhattanville. He followed that up with a 17-point, three-steal effort against Stevenson. Closing out the week with a victory against Notre Dame (MD), the rookie recorded 11 points, four rebounds and two steals.
 
CUNYAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week – Honorable Mention
Devin Nicholson, Baruch
Gr., Staten Island, N.Y. / St. Joseph by the Sea
 
Nicholson produced another solid effort in a 1-1 week for the Bearcats. In a win at Rutgers-Camden, he dropped a season-high 24 points on 53-percent shooting with six rebounds, two assists and two steals. He followed that up with a game-high 23 points in a loss to undefeated Clark. 
 
The 2024 CUNYAC Men’s Basketball Championship is scheduled for Feb. 17-23. First Round action begins on Saturday, Feb. 17, at higher seeds, followed by the semifinal round on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at higher seeds. The tournament finale will be held on Friday, Feb. 23 at CCNY.
