2023 CUNYAC Women’s Soccer Championship Field Set

FLUSHING, N.Y. (Oct. 26, 2023) – Now that the regular season has come to an end, the tournament field for the 2023 CUNYAC Women’s Soccer Championship is now set. Four teams with championship aspirations will vie for the title on Saturday, November 4 at Queens College.
 
CCNY is the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament after securing its first-ever regular season championship. The Beavers finished the regular season 8-5 overall with a perfect 5-0 mark against conference opponents. CCNY enters the semifinal round winners of four straight contests.
 
Laura Villatoro leads the Beavers in points (37) and goals (14) this season, while Karen Pineda has recorded nine goals and four assists for 22 points.
 
John Jay, the three-time defending conference champions, are the No. 2 seed after finishing the regular season 7-5 overall with a 4-1 mark against league opposition. Nora O’Connor leads the CUNYAC this season in points (43) and goals (19), highlighted by three hat trick performances and five game-winning scores.
 
Lehman is the No. 3 seed in the bracket, going 4-7-1 in the regular season with a 3-2 conference record. Melanie Siranaula has recorded 14 goals for the Lightning this season, while Barbara Meda has found the back of the nine times.
 
Brooklyn rounds out the field as the No. 4 seed, led by four goals and four assists from Sage Bernstein.
 
Semifinal action gets underway on Saturday, October 28, beginning with top-seeded CCNY hosting Brooklyn at Randall’s Island Field #75). In the regular season meeting between the two schools, the Beavers turned in an 8-0 victory.
 
The second semifinal contest features John Jay and Lehman at Randall’s Island (Field #75). The two teams played in the regular season finale, resulting in a 6-0 win for the Bloodhounds.
 
Those winners will advance to the final on Saturday, Nov. 4 at Queens College. The contest will broadcast on cunyathletics.com/watch.
