FLUSHING, N.Y. (Nov. 10, 2022) – The City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) have announced its all-star selections for the 2022 women's cross country season.
 
John Jay's Isabella Gentile was named CUNYAC Runner of the Year, while Lehman's Evelin Gomez was voted Rookie of the Year. Hunter head coach Marvin Hawkins received Coach of the Year recognition.
 
Runner of the Year: Isabella Gentile, Fr., John Jay
In just her first season in a Bloodhounds uniform, Gentile quickly ascended to become one of the premiere runners in the conference. A four-time CUNYAC Runner of the Week, Gentile posted top-two finishes at five meets, highlighted by first-place efforts at the CUNYAC Cross Country Championship and the ECAC Championship, becoming the first Bloodhounds in program history to be crowned individual at the regional championship.
 
Rookie of the Year: Evelin Gomez, Fr., Lehman
Similar to Gentile, Gomez proved to be one of the top runners among the conference in just her first season. She produced three top-five finishes, including a second-place effort at the conference championship with a time of 25:31.
 
Coach of the Year: Marvin Hawkins, Hunter
In his first season as head coach, Hawkins led the Hawks to an eighth consecutive CUNYAC title.
