Baruch Headlines 2021-22 CUNYAC Men’s Swimming & Diving Preseason Poll

FLUSHING, N.Y. – Baruch College has been chosen to repeat as conference champions in the 2021-22 CUNYAC Men's Swimming & Diving Preseason Poll, announced by the conference office on Wednesday.
 
Coming off their third straight title, the Bearcats finished with 12 points and two first-place votes. Baruch is led by CUNYAC All-Star and the 2021 CUNYAC Preseason Swimmer of the Year, Dayan Ordabeayev.
 
Ordabeayev was among the top performers in the conference during the 2019-20 campaign. At the CUNYAC championships, he earned individual goal medals in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle, while aiding Baruch to four first place finishes in relay events (200 medley, 400 medley, 200 free, 400 free). At the Metropolitan Championships, Ordabeayev helped a pair of relay teams (200 free and 200 medley) qualify for the ECAC Championships.
 
Lehman and York were tied for second with 10 points and one first-place vote apiece, followed by Brooklyn, the 2020 runner-up, with eight points.
 
The three-day 2021-22 CUNYAC Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships are scheduled for Jan. 28-30 at The Apex at Lehman College.
