The top four seeds advance to the CUNYAC Con Edison Men's Volleyball Semifinals this Friday at CCNY. The semifinals at 4pm and 6pm will be followed by the finals at 8pm which will be produced by BronxNet television. The semifinals will feature matchups between top-seeded Baruch Bearcats and #4 Brooklyn Bulldogs and the second seeded Hawks from Hunter versus #3 York Cardinals.

The #7-ranked men’s volleyball team swept the Cougars of Medgar Evers College in a CUNYAC/Con Edison Championship Tournament quarterfinal match played on Tuesday night in the ARC Arena.
The Bearcats posted a 25-2, 25-8, 25-10 victory to advance to the semifinal round on Friday night at CCNY’s Nat Holman Gymnasium. The Bearcats will play Brooklyn at 6:00 pm.
Please note that all CUNYAC playoff matches at CCNY feature free admission.
However, all fans are encouraged to register online in advance for tickets to be admitted into the gym.
The winner of the championship will earn the automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Tournament to be hosted by M.I.T. in Cambridge, Massachusetts on April 26-28, 2013.
Yanni Malo led the attack this evening against Medgar Evers with seven kills hitting .600. Brian Monaghan had four kills in also hitting .600.
Brian Coniglio dished out 16 assists in the playoff victory.
Christopher Welsh led the Cougars with four kills and two digs.

New York, NY - Nino Holt led the Hawks with 12 kills and Stanley Martinez recorded a game-high 29 assists as Hunter cruised through the quarterfinals round of the 2013 CUNYAC Championships defeating John Jay 3-0 (25-18, 25-10, 25-10) on Tuesday, April 9th.
Hunter netted a team total of 39 kills and 32 defensive digs in their win over John Jay. Nino holt led the offensive attack hitting double-figures with 12 kills, while Braien Otslaadded seven kills and Moshood Jinad had six kills.
Stanley Martinez controlled the momentum setting up his Hawks with 29 assists and leading the defense with 10 digs.
The Hawks advance to the semifinal round of the CUNYAC Championships which will be held on Friday, April 12th at CCNY. Hunter will play at 4:00 p.m. against the winner of #3 York and #6 Lehman.

JAMAICA, N.Y. — The York College men's volleyball team disposed of Lehman College in the quarterfinal round of the CUNY Athletic Conference Men's Volleyball Championships by a score of 3-0 (25-15, 25-22, 25-18) on Tuesday night.
With the win, York advances to the semifinal round, which will be held at the City College of New York at 4:00 p.m on Friday, April 12. It is the fifth straight season they have reached the semifinals. The Cardinals, who are the #3 seed in the tournament, will battle second-seeded Hunter College, who knocked off John Jay College in the quarterfinal round. Should they win, they would play in the finals later that night at 8:00 p.m.
The Cardinals had a solid all-around effort to defeat Lehman for the third time this season. York hit .191 on the night with 10.5 blocks, while holding the Lightning to a .041 hitting percentage on the evening.
Leszek Stankiewicz and Edner Geffrard led the way with nine kills apiece. Geffrard added four blocks on defense and Stankiewicz chipped in three. Avinash Thomas finished with six kills and ten assists and Jhonnattan Fernandez had six kills and five digs. Sebastien Francois also contributed with seven kills.

Brooklyn, NY --- The #4 seeded Brooklyn College Men's Volleyball team won an exhilarating 3-1 (26-24, 27-25, 36-38, 25-22) match in the quarterfinals round of the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Championships on Tuesday night at the West Quad Center over the #5 seeded Beavers of the City College of New York (CCNY).
With the win, BC improves to 13-11 overall on the season and advances to the semifinals round of the CUNYAC Championships for the second straight season. The Bulldogs will take on the top seeded Bearcats of Baruch College this Friday, April 12th at 6:00 pm at Nat Holman Gymnasium on the campus of CCNY. Baruch defeated #8 Medgar Evers College in their quarterfinal meeting.

The Beavers conclude their season with a 13-15 overall record.
All four sets on the night saw tight, back-and-fourth action. Overall, BC and CCNY totaled 42 ties and 17 lead changes in the match.
After Brooklyn edged out 26-24 and 27-25 wins in the first and second sets, respectively; the set of the match would come in the third, which saw CCNY pull out an incredible 38-36 win, to force a fourth set, which the Bulldogs would win 25-22 to punch their ticket to the semifinals.
The third set saw the teams rack up 18 ties and 10 lead changes.
Leading the way to victory for BC was junior Timothy Hui, who registered his second triple-double of the season, with a team-high 31 assists, 18 digs and 16 kills. Sophomore David Dimitruk posted a match-best 19 kills, to go along with a match-high 26 digs, to record a double-double. Classmate Lucas Moline added 14 kills, while senior Mateusz Gotowicki finished with seven kills and four total blocks. Freshman Serhan Akturk contributed with 12 digs, while senior Christopher Valverde chipped in with 25 assists.
For CCNY, Brian Yik Lim recorded a double-double with 13 kills and 14 digs, while Derell Williams added 10 kills. Anthony Reyes paced the offense with a match-high 32 assists, while Bobby Xihe Xie and Bryan Hu finished with 15 and 13 digs, respectively.
