Lehman's Men and York's Women Win Track and Field Titles

The Lehman College men and the York College women have won the 2009 CUNY Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships, which concluded today at Icahn Stadium on Randall’s Island. Additionally, the Queensborough women and Kingsborough men claimed the Community College Championships.

The meet’s Most Valuable Performers were Alexandra Nkrumah from York College, who on the women’s side earned 56 points, and Max Zamor, who earned 37 points for the Hunter’s men’s team. Nkrumah has now won the MVP award for the second time in as many years.

On the women’s side, the York women ran away with the Championship, earning 231 team points. The Lehman women placed second with 151 points, with Medgar Evers third with 67.

With the men, Lehman scratched out the eight-point 199-191 win over Hunter College. A year ago, Hunter captured a one-point win over the Lightning to claim the Championship. The Medgar Evers men placed third with 81 points while CCNY earned 77.
