Freshman Ashley Armand has been a hit through the first two weeks of the Cross Country season finishing second overall and pacing all Community College female runners in both races on two different courses. On September 12, in the Baruch Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, she ran a 25:40 in a 6,000 Meter (6K) race. The Martin Van Buren High School product was just four seconds off of the gold medal pace, in her first-ever collegiate race. This past weekend at Bard in beautiful Annandale-on-Hudson, she soared to a 20:34 in a 5,000 Meter (5K) event, slotting second again, only 0:13 seconds behind the winner.
