The Dolphins finished the week on a four game win streak with the help of ILONA STOYKO, who is rewarded with her second straight CUNYAC Rookie nod. Against St. Josephs-Brooklyn the freshman took a 10-2 singles win along with an 8-0 win in doubles. On September 23, against City Tech, the native of Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine, took her opponent in singles by a score of 6-0, 6-1. In doubles, the combo of Stoyko and Gabriella Villarruel to an 8-4 victory. In the final conference match of the week, Stoyko grabbed a 6-4, 6-4 singles win, while she and Villarruel kept their opponents scoreless in doubles. Stoyko dropped just her second loss of the season in singles in a tough 2-6, 6-3, 7-10 finish. She took revenge in doubles play as the duo defeated their FDU opponents, 9-8 (7-5).
