Freshman Braien Otsia won the Rookie of the Week award, helping lead the Hawks (13-7, 9-1 CUNYAC) to a 3-0 week with wins over City Tech in Conference action and New Jersey City and NYU-Polytechnic in non-league play. Against City Tech the freshman from Brooklyn, NY tallied nine kills and five digs in the three-set sweep. Versus Poly, he scored 10 kills and three digs in three games and he concluded the week with nine kills and ten digs in a four-game defeat of NJCU. Otsia and the Hawks have a tough challenge looming next week (Tuesday, March 9 @ 6:00 pm) when they travel downtown to face Baruch.
