Rookie of the Week Shamir Wilkinson put together one of the best weeks of his young career, averaging 11.3 points and 7.7 rebounds in three games. Against John Jay on Monday, Wilkinson scored eight points and grabbed seven boards in a 75-55 victory. Then on Wednesday, Wilkinson added 14 points and eight rebounds in a 68-65 win over Hunter College. He then closed out the week with a 12-point, eight-rebound performance in a 90-58 win over Berkeley College.
On the season, Wilkinson is averaging 5.2 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. Since being thrust into a starting role however, Wilkinson is averaging 9.4 points and 6.6 boards per game.
The Cardinals (14-5) are winners of ten straight and will visit CCNY on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
