The Rookie for the Week is Medgar Evers College’s Winston Douglas, who led the Cougars (7-6; 1-1 CUNYAC) in losses to Messiah, 86-76, and Gettysburg, 69-59, and a win over Rosemont (Pa.), 58-53. Douglas joined the team in time for the Coaches vs. Cancer event at York (Pa.), recording double-doubles with 10 points and 12 rebounds against Gettysburg, and 15 points and 16 rebounds against Rosemont.
MEC hosts York on Wednesday and heads across the borough to Brooklyn on Saturday.
