Jordan Young of Staten Island splits Player of the Week honors with York’s Elijah Evelyn. CSI (4-6; 1-1 CUNYAC) split a pair of games during its Tournament of Heroes, falling to Piedmont (Ga.) College, 90-84, before rebounding to beat Colby-Sawyer (N.H.) College, 90-79. Young averaged 25.5 points and 11.0 rebounds per game.
A member of the All-Tournament Team, Young had a complete stat line against Piedmont, making eight of his 13 shots from the field en route to 24 points. He added 11 rebounds, six assists, five steals, and one blocked shot. A night later against Colby-Sawyer, he connected on 10 of his 12 field goals for 27 points, adding 11 rebounds, four assists and a steal.
On the season, Young has led the team in scoring in three of the Dolphins’ last four contests, and averages 15.4 points per game. He is shooting 59.8 percent from the floor. He also leads the team in rebounding, with 7.4 per game.
This week, CSI heads to Lehman on Wednesday night for a game that will be broadcast as part of the CUNY Athletic Conference television package. The Dolphins then close out the week on Friday, hosting York.
