Nikolay Shevchenko led the College of Staten Island men’s swim team in a 162-94 defeat at Ramapo College. The Swimmer of the Week won three individual events as the Dolphins (3-1; 1-0 CUNYAC) suffered defeat for the first time this season.
Shevchenko won the 1000-yard freestyle in 10:05.29, the 200-yard butterfly in 1:57.32, and the 100-fly in 52.60. In the 1000-free, Shevchenko dominated the field, beating the second place finisher by over two minutes.
He then teamed with Vladislav Romanov, Joe Lee, and Mohamed Hikal in the 200-yard medley relay to place second, with a combined time of 1:42.21.
