Alba Basha helped lead the College of Staten Island volleyball team (10-12; 5-3 CUNYAC) to a 4-1 week en route to earning Player of the Week honors. The only senior on the roster helped the Dolphins beat City Tech 3-0, Brooklyn 3-1, St. Joseph’s 3-0 and Cooper Union 3-0 before losing to Rutgers – Camden 3-0 to snap the four-match win streak.

In a tri-match with City Tech and Brooklyn, she set 13 assists in each match. Against the Yellowjackets, she added seven service aces, while against the Bridges, she added six kills. Her best performance came against St. Joe’s, where she recorded 22 assists, eleven digs and six service aces. Another double-double followed against Cooper Union, where she had 12 assists and ten digs. The week concluded with a seven assist, ten dig outing against Rutgers-Camden.

On the season, Basha continues to lead the conference in service aces, with .93 per game. She is also fifth in digs (3.32 per game) and tenth in hitting percentage (.224)
