Vilsaint repeats as Brine® Player of the Week, as he led the Cardinals (7-7; 6-2 CUNYAC) to a pair of home wins last week. Vilsaint scored six of the team’s twelve goals, as York beat Purchase College 7-1 and Staten Island 5-0.

Against Purchase, he scored four consecutive goals to put the game out of reach. His first, in the 33rd minute, come on a penalty kick. He then scored thrice in the second half, in the 49th, 59th, and 80th minutes. He only took six shots on the day, a game where he came off the bench. The four goals for Vilsaint was the most he’s scored since in a single game since last season, when he netted five goals against Yeshiva.

A day later, he remained hot, grabbing a goal and a pair of assists against CSI. In the second half, Vlisaint set up Sergio Restrepo as York took a 2-0 lead. In the 77th minute, Vilsaint tallied to make the score 3-0. Just four minutes later, Vilsaint took a corner kick that was deflected off a CSI defender and into the net for an own goal, where he was credited with his second goal of the contest.

For the season, Vilsaint now has eleven goals in eleven contests, which leads the CUNY Athletic Conference. His six goals on the week were half of the team’s output, and more than doubled his own season output. He also leads the CUNYAC in assists with four and game-winning goals with three.
